European Manufacturers

European steelmakers (ArcelorMittal, Thyssenkrupp, voestalpine, etc.) produce high-quality prepainted coils with advanced coatings. They offer a full range of resins (polyester, SMP, HDP, PVDF, etc.), often in thick multilayer systems (up to 70–75 μm) with long warranties (20–40 years). Products comply with EN 10169 (PPGI) standards and EU regulations (CE mark, REACH). Coil thicknesses (~0.4–3.0 mm) and widths easily cover Mehbud’s 0.35–1.0 mm needs. European coils use durable galvanizing (e.g. ~Z100–Z275 g/m²) and even Zn–Al–Mg (Magnelis®) for extra corrosion protection.

  1. Coatings: Polyester (PE), SMP, HDP, PVDF, etc. (multi-layer systems 25–75 μm). Textured or special finishes (e.g. woodgrain) are offered by some (e.g. Thyssenkrupp pladur® Relief Wood).
  2. Zinc coating: Heavy galvanizing up to ~Z275 g/m²; high-end options like Magnelis® (93.5%Zn+3.5%Al+3%Mg) for superior corrosion resistance Galvalume (Zn–Al) is also available.
  3. Thickness: Coil range ~0.4–3.0 mm (so 0.35–1.0 mm is readily supplied).
  4. Certifications: ISO 9001/14001, CE/EN 10169, REACH compliance. Some lines have A2 fire certification or other national approvals.
  5. Export/trust: Established global OEM suppliers with decades of export history. European producers mainly serve domestic/EU markets but also export worldwide.
  6. Pricing: Generally higher (premium product). For reference, European flat steel (HRC) was ~€680–700/t in early 2025, implying coated coils command a premium above Chinese levels.
  7. MOQ: Often whole coils or container loads (e.g. 25+ t). Long-term contracts or buy-offs from regional service centers are common.
  8. Delivery to Ukraine: Short transit (road/rail via Poland or Romania) – typically 2–6 days from EU mills, offering fast, reliable supply.

Chinese Manufacturers

China’s steel sector includes giant mills (Baosteel, Ansteel, etc.) and many PPGI specialists (Wanzhi, Cosasteel, etc.) that export globally. Chinese vendors supply similar coating types (PE, SMP, HDP, PVDF) and often decorative finishes (matte, woodgrain, marble, etc.). Functional coatings (antibacterial or self-cleaning) can be added. Typical zinc layers range Z30–Z275 g/m² (and AZ coating at 30–150 g/m² for Galvalume). Standard coil thickness offerings (0.12–1.5 mm) cover the 0.35–1.0 mm range. Manufacturers cite ISO9001, CE, ASTM, SGS and other certifications. Chinese PPGI is generally lower-priced (often $600–900/t for regular PE/SMP coils). China is by far the world’s top PPGI exporter (1,666 shipments in 2022/23), but quality can vary. Delivery to Ukraine involves longer logistics: approx. 35–50 days by sea or 15–20 days by rail (compared to ~3–5 days from Europe) and may face war-related delays.

  1. Coatings: PE, SMP, HDP, PVDF topcoats (10–40 μm); printing/textured patterns (woodgrain, etc.); antibacterial/superhydrophobic additives (silver-ion, TiO₂, etc.).
  2. Zinc coating: Galvanized Z30–Z275 g/m² and Al–Zn (Galvalume) at 30–150 g/m².
  3. Thickness: Typically 0.12–1.5 mm available (suppliers can slit coils to 0.35–1.0 mm per specs).
  4. Certifications: Many factories are ISO 9001 certified; export lines claim CE/SGS/ASTM compliance. Material often meets EN/ASTM specs.
  5. Export/trust: Large export volumes (82 Chinese firms shipped 329 PPGI orders in 2023/24). Price competition is intense. Some EU importers are cautious due to past AD duties.
  6. Pricing: Lower base prices ($600–900/t for common grades; special colors or coatings cost more). Trends fluctuate with global steel prices.
  7. MOQ: Coils ~3–5 t each; typically full loads (≈20–25 t) are arranged for shipping. Small buyer orders combine coils.
  8. Delivery to Ukraine: Long shipping (~35–50 days by sea to Black Sea ports) or 15–20 days by rail. Transit is slower and costlier than EU supply (road cargo from EU is ~2–6 days).
