Fence from the Manufacturer

Buying a fence directly from the manufacturer is a solution that is often optimal. If a company cares about its reputation and has a well-established network of retail and wholesale outlets for selling components, then purchasing a fence or other metal structures from them can be more cost-effective.

We will discuss the specifics of buying a fence from the manufacturer in our overview.

HOW TO IDENTIFY A FENCE MANUFACTURER?

So, you’ve decided to purchase a fence and want to know who manufactures it? Or perhaps the fence has already been delivered/installed, but you have doubts about its origin? Let’s figure out how to determine the place of production of a specific structure:

  • The primary (and most reliable) source of information is the contract signed by both you and the supplier when concluding the deal. The contract should specify all the technical characteristics of the structure, as well as the place of its manufacture.
  • If there is no contract yet, information about the production of the fence can be found online. Most often, this information is contained on the company’s website. If the company manufactures components for fences itself, it almost always mentions this on its website, as in-house production is a significant competitive advantage. If the company sells fences from other reputable manufacturers, it will also not hide this fact — a well-known brand will be an additional factor in attracting customers.

Pay attention! If there is no mention of production on the company’s website, it is possible that the company sells fences from small manufacturers. This does not mean that they will be of poor quality, but it will be necessary to more carefully monitor compliance with dimensions and technical characteristics!

  • You can ask the sales manager of the selling company about who manufactures the fence even at the stage of choosing the model and color. The more comprehensive the information provided to you, the better. If the manager hesitates to answer such an obvious question, perhaps the origin of the fence is somewhat… questionable.

Finally, some manufacturers mark their products. Marking is applied either on the back of the panels, which are not visible, or on stickers attached over the packaging film. It is important that the information in the marking corresponds to the information specified in the contract.

TYPES OF PRODUCTION

As mentioned earlier, large manufacturers usually indicate on their websites that they produce components for fences themselves. However, in addition to large-scale production, small companies are also engaged in the production of fencing structures. Typically, they organize production in small workshops (or even in a garage) — this reduces the cost of production, but the quality can be unpredictable.

PROS AND CONS OF BUYING DIRECTLY FROM THE MANUFACTURER

Most fence manufacturers in Ukraine not only supply them to other companies for resale but also organize retail sales of structures themselves. There are enough advantages to buying a fence from a manufacturer:

  • Price. It’s all clear here — the fewer “additional links” in the sales chain, the lower the markup will be. The price difference will not be too significant (the manufacturer does this consciously to avoid creating unnecessary competition for its own dealers), but for fencing a large area, even a slight price difference will provide substantial savings.
  • Timelines. Placing a direct order for a fence from the manufacturer significantly saves time on manufacturing the structure, so the fence will be ready for installation at least 3-4 days earlier.
  • Quality. It depends primarily on the manufacturer itself, but when ordering from a manufacturing company, there is an important aspect. If you have even the slightest remarks regarding the dimensions, shade, or quality of the factory production — the issue will be resolved more quickly if you communicate directly with the manufacturer.

On the other hand, this drawback can be considered rather conditional: usually, the customer needs one fence model, and it is either in the assortment or not. Moreover, large manufacturers of fencing structures strive to offer their customers a fairly wide selection of models, as at least a solid fence, a ventilated fence, and a louvered fence will be in the product line with a probability of 99%.

Therefore, if you have the opportunity to order a fencing structure, bypassing the network of intermediaries, and you are confident in the reputation of the manufacturing company — then such an option should be considered as a priority.
